When to go

Zimbabwe’s seasons each offer something special.

The dry winter months (June to August) are ideal for full-day safaris.
Days are clear and comfortable with excellent wildlife viewing.

As the season moves into September and October, animals gather around water sources.
Sightings become even more rewarding, especially for big game.

The green season (November to April) brings refreshing rains.
Landscapes turn lush and vibrant with dramatic sunsets.
It’s also a great time for birdwatching, with many migratory species arriving.

If Victoria Falls is a highlight, visit between February and May.
This is when the water flow is most powerful and the spray rises high above the gorge.

What to Do

Track lions and elephants through the teak forests of Hwange National Park.
Watch wildlife wander right past your camp’s waterhole.

Head north to Mana Pools for canoe safaris along the Zambezi.
It’s one of the most intimate ways to experience wildlife at eye level.

Explore the ancient Great Zimbabwe ruins, once the centre of a thriving African civilisation.

Drift across Lake Kariba on a houseboat.
Spot hippos and crocodiles along the shoreline.
Try your hand at catching the powerful tigerfish.

Feel the spray of Victoria Falls up close.
Take to the skies with a scenic helicopter flight.
Enjoy sundowners along the river as the sun sets over the gorge.
