Wamkelekile! (Welcome in Xhosa) Welkom! (Afrikaans) Welcome to South Africa

Anyone who has visited the rainbow nation will tell you about the warmth, hospitality, and friendliness of the local people. And we do not disagree!

This 5-day tour has been co-created by the local communities in and around Cape Town. There is no better way to learn about the many diverse cultures, and their different languages, taste their local foods, and sit around a fire singing their local songs (all made up of course!) The Cape is filled with unbeatable natural splendour and activities to tickle any fancy as well as a warm welcome that permeates its people.

Local women have opened their homes to share with you and your friends and families. With Simonsberg as your backdrop, you will have easy access to some of the best wine farms. From here you can enjoy activities like walking, hiking, and wine tastings at beautiful wine farms in the Cape Winelands.

Itinerary Overview

Welcome to Cape Town

Welcome to the Cape Town International Airport.

Your shuttle will collect you and take you to your charming home in the Winelands. The small quaint town of Kylemore sits snugly between Stellenbosch and Franschhoek. With Simonsberg as its backdrop, and the Bankhoek conservancy just a few minutes from your accommodation, it is perfect for a stroll in nature.

Kylemore and surroundings

Discover the first Fair trade town, Paarl. After a hearty breakfast prepared by your hostess, you will go on a street walk tour in the town of Paarl.

For lunch, you are invited to a traditional meal paired with local wine and lots of laughter.

Wine & Food Tasting

Explore Stellenbosch and surroundings. You have the option to start the day with a guided walk in the conservancy learning about Cape Town’s fauna and flora rich landscapes. The rest of the day is filled with visiting wine farms in the area. For the evening you will enjoy the infamous braai (barbeque) around the fire with lots of stories to tell.

City Street Walk

After breakfast, we head to the city for a street walk of the colourful Cape Malay homes in the Bo Kaap. You will join in a cooking class of real local food. For the rest of the day, you can explore the V&A Waterfront or go up Table Mountain or visit Robben Island.

Saying ‘goodbye’

After breakfast, your host will say goodbye and a driver will collect you for the airport. If you are staying longer, we are happy to drop you off in the area within 30km. We know you would have enjoyed your stay and at the same time learn more about the local lives of South Africans.
